74 acres with three dwellings for €900,000

A FARM at Castlelack, Bandon, Co Cork, is generating interest, and auctioneer Jim O’Brien expects a sale sooner rather than later.

74 acres with three dwellings for €900,000

The 74-acre residential holding is an executor’s sale. It was used as a drystock farm for the last while, and for a dairy enterprise previously, says the CCM selling agent.

Divided by the public road, it has plenty of road frontage, and three dwellings — a renovated gate lodge, an old stone farmhouse, and a two-storey, three-bedroomed farmhouse built in the 1930s.

The farm is only three miles from Bandon town, on the Macroom side, and is high and dry with a south-facing aspect (with fine views from the farmhouse). It adjoins Castlelack primary school, and has hobby farm or residential potential, thanks to its proximity to Bandon.

There are 24 acres, a yard and residence on one side of the road, and 51 acres on the other, with a milking parlour, cattle shed for 40 head and a large machinery storage shed. The old, stone farmhouse is in use as a workshop, but may have conversion potential.

Jim O’Brien gives an overall price guide of €10,000 per acre for the land and houses, seeking offers in the region of €900,000 for the entire.

However, he says he’s very flexible, and is open to suggestions on any combination of lots.

Considering the good quality of the land, with no waste, and the location, this sale should draw interest from a broad church of buyers.
