Quality grassland selling for a bargain €10,000 an acre

AUCTIONEER Michael Barry is taking an 80-acre holding at Ballinvarrig, Castlelyons, Co Cork, to auction on February 10 — and expects a good response.

The property, which is located only a mile on either side of Rathcormac and Castlelyons, is a high quality grassland farm, he says, and would be recognised as such locally.

In fact, the property had been sale agreed through private treaty, but the fact that it fell through convinced the executor’s to sell by auction.
