5 cent/kg more for lambs this week

THE recent upward trend in lamb prices is continuing this week at factories, with all processors improving their prices.

Most offered 5 cents/kg (2p/lb) more for lambs this week, bringing the base price as high as 440 cents/kg (157p/lb) plus bonus for quality (at Kepak, Hacketstown).

Kildare Chilling is at a base of 438 cents/kg plus bonus, and the rest of the processing centres are offering 440 cents/kg plus bonus.
