Small-holding sale will interest neighbouring farmers
Looking after a relative’s interests, Kenmare-based Donal McCarthy of McCarthy Morgan Auctioneers is handling the private treaty sale and says he’s surprised at the amount of interest in the 26-acre property so far.
Top class land, the 21.6- acre field is sure to appeal to neighbouring farmers, he says, and the land is level, dry (save for one small corner which will need draining) and productive.
Included is an old ruin of a farmhouse on a small piece of ground and a separate block of 4.6 acres, all with frontage onto a small country road.
The guide price is €375,000 for the house and 26 acres. Mr McCarthy gives guide prices of €12,500 per acre on the land and between €120,000 and €140,000 for the cottage and smaller block of land.
