25k an acre sought for gravel deposits farm

THE forthcoming auction of a 65-acre farm at Caum, Carrigadrohid, Co Cork, may throw up a few surprises, not least because of its guide price.

The mid-Cork residential holding is being pitched at 25,000 per acre, through Tom Brady of Brady Auctioneers, because it has substantial gravel deposits.

And while we may have passed the peak of the boom time when land with quarrying potential drew big money, there may be some buyers out there for the long punt.
