Tillage and grazing farm goes to auction
Auctioneer Christy Buckley will offer the 62-acre residential holding to the public at the Kilcoran Lodge Hotel on June 18 at 2pm and will look for offers in the region of €10,000 per acre.
Located at Shanrahan, just minutes from Clogheen village, the farm is good quality arable land and has been used for grass and tillage for the past number of years. It had been a productive dairy farm up to the mid-2000s.
It’s now a compact block bounded by the River Tar at one end, with a farm roadway down the middle, and road frontage on one side.
There’s avenue access from the main road to the yard, which comprises a modern slatted unit, two cubicle houses, a three-column hay shed, open silage pit and silage slab, a cattle crush, milking parlour and collecting yard. The yard also has a mains water supply.
