IT’S a small traditional cottage – modest enough – but it comes with 22 acres of top quality land at Bandon, Co Cork.

This residential holding at Callatrim is being offered for sale through Bowe Auctioneers and there has been considerable interest already.

Most of those enquiries are in regard to the cottage only so far, says Brendan Bowe, who is prepared to sell the little house on its own, along with half an acre.

Considering the proximity to Bandon town, and the fact that the area is within a commute of Cork city, there are interested buyers, he says.

The land is top quality ground, suitable for tillage or grazing, and is offered in one or more lots, he says..

All in one square block, it’s bounded by a stream on one side and has good road frontage. The sale includes a number of old outbuildings.

And considering the quality of the land, the agent gives a guide in excess of €15,000 per acre, which he says, reflects its value. but is also “listening to the market”.
