Kerry hit by REPS payment delays

KERRY farmers have been hit hard by REPS payment delays. By January 25, payments for 2009 had issued to only 476 of the 2,039 REPS 4 applicants in Co Kerry.

Only counties Waterford and Wicklow have a worse rate of payment, with 133 out of 671 applicants paid in Waterford, and 95 out of 407 paid in Wicklow.

Many of the farmers waiting for payment in Co Kerry are experiencing real hardship, said Deputy Martin Ferris in the Dáil.
