Kenmare farm to test New Year market

IT used to have some of the most desirable real estate in the country, but Kenmare has also been hit by the downturn.

The decision to auction off a number of holiday homes in the Kerry town last month drew flak for its potential to depress property prices in the region. As it happened, there was a huge response to the sale, and all of the units were sold within days.

In the dying weeks of the year, Tom Spillane now offers a 52-acre farm at Templenoe, Kenmare, just five miles from the town.
