Career forum for science graduates
Graduates who have chosen a diverse range of career paths will address the forum, and advise on forging a career within, and outside, the agri-food sector. Among the speakers will be David Walsh, founder and chief executive of Netwatch, a Carlow-based company providing remote visual monitoring systems for 1,000 companies on three continents.
Other speakers will be Owen Brennan, managing director, Devenish Nutrition, in Belfast, and agricultural consultant, James Fitzgerald.
Karina Pierce, UCD, will outline the range of post-graduate opportunities, and the importance of up-skilling to enable graduates to capitalise on opportunities in emerging sectors, such as the green economy.
ASA president, Dr Frank O’Mara, said that while the forum is open to all graduates, it will be of particular benefit to those who graduated in recent years.
It takes place in the Agriculture and Food Science Centre, in UCD, starting at 7pm.
