Irish Aberdeen Angus Society president Robert Steenson selected cattle from Cork and Kerry for the top three awards.

Details: Small herd less than nine cows and in calf heifers — 1, Sheila O’Brien, Ballyvourney; 2, Tony Jennings, Leap; 3 Tom Dineen, Kinsale, Cork. Young stock person special commendation — Brian O’Halloran, Bandon.

Medium herd 10 to 19 cows and in calf heifers –1, Eustace, Deirdre, and Eustace (Jnr) Burke, Carrigaline. 2, Henry and Yvonne Dudley, Templemore, Tipperary; 3, Doreen Corridan, Fedamore, Co Limerick.

Large herd 20 plus cows and in calf heifers – 1, Matthew and Rita Goulding, Ballyduff, Co Kerry; Joint Second — Albert and Jennifer De Cogan, Castlemartyr and John and Michael Lynch, Killmallock, Co Limerick; 3, John and Kate Tait, Rostellan, Co Cork.
