ALTHOUGH some of the processors have been trying to tighten up prices, there is no indication of any appreciable change in the beef cattle market.

Cattle supply should remain  tight

Reports of intake at beef plants vary, as does the price trend, but it appears overall that neither has changed a lot from last week, in a steady trade which is holding on to the rise in prices of recent weeks.

Any downward price pressure is coming from the processors who paid at the higher end of the scale for stock last week, and are trying to claw back a slice of the price increase this week, while hoping they won’t lose out supply-wise.
