Pig farmers say they trailed EU average price by 16c/kg in July

ONLY the Danish pig price increased (adding 3c/kg) this week, according to IFA.

Pig farmers here calculate that their price has fallen to 90% of the EU average. For July, they say they averaged 16c/kg behind the EU price.

Here, export plants generally quote at 163 cent to 168 cent per kg, plus the welfare bonus of 2c to 6c.
