IFA: Rosderra suppliers still losing money

PIG farmers supplying Rosderra have not yet reached a breakeven price, according to IFA.

They said export plants this week generally continued to pay 152 to 160 cent per kg, plus the welfare bonus of 2 to 6c.

Pork slaughterers quoted from 156 to 162c.

Sow prices stayed at €28 to 34 per cwt liveweight, and prices for 32 kg weaners stayed at €50 to 54.

It is 18 weeks since Irish pig prices matched the EU average, and they are now 8% behind, according to IFA.
