Golfer Ernie Els recently said his work on the Hangman’s Point course will soon proceed. Meanwhile, a 92-acre holding, with some shore frontage, is surplus to requirements (the developers have over 600 acres in total), and this part of the land bank is being sold by private treaty with a guide price close to €30,000 per acre. The property can be sold in two lots.
Prime tillage ground, it’s under spring barley at present, and the sale includes a bungalow.
There’s a farm roadway through part of the lands, which would allow a proportion, some 12 to 14 acres, to be sold separately.
This part of the land includes a former rifle range and also shore frontage, which could add to its appeal for the residential buyer.
The remainder of the land is in three large divisions with access from a minor road, via a laneway.
Just two miles from Kinsale, the property also comes with some outbuildings, and it would be a fine, add-on farm for local landowners, or a substantial hobby farm for residential buyers, especially in light of its location.
The total value of the property at the present guide is €2.77 million.
