Tipperary Co-op comes out on top in international award
Tipperary’s success in the annual Danone Numico Corporation’s Partners for Growth Awards was announced at a ceremony in Amsterdam. It is the first Irish co-op or dairy company to receive such an award, which recognised the society’s excellence in quality, service and innovation. Danone Numico, a world leader in dairy products, secures ingredients from major dairy companies in Europe, Asia, the United States and Oceania. Fonterra, one of the world’s largest co-ops, was a previous winner.
Pat Caulfield, managing director, Danone Numico Ireland, who presented the trophy to Tim Dullea, general manager, Tipperary Co-op, said the society has become a key supplier of dairy ingredients to the group. The co-op was demonstrating a close partnership approach, flexibility and willingness to adapt to constantly changing market conditions.
He said Danone Numico was pleased it was maintaining close links with the primary milk producers through Tipperary Co-op. Mr Dullea said the award represents further international recognition of Tipperary Co-op as a supplier of quality dairy products and ingredients. “It pays tribute to the commitment of our milk suppliers, management and staff that helped to deliver this award,” he said. Co-op chairman Matt Quinlan said the society was proud to be the first Irish winner of the award.
