Top tillage land on offer
The 60-acre holding at Finure has lots of road frontage and runs down steeply to the sea at its boundary.
Which means there are effectively 50 clear, ploughable acres, the agent says. However, it’s top quality land, he says, the best of it, and could suit any farming purpose.
The outlying farm comes with some sheds and is level and south-facing. Trevor McCarthy is looking for offers in the region of €20,000 per acre.
nA 42,000 gallon/ 81 acre dairy farm on Dev’s doorstep at Bruree, Co Limerick, is believed to be sale agreed at just under it’s guide price of €1.4 million. The farm, which has a limestone base and is laid out in four divisions, was described as prime limestone ground by its selling agent, Liam Mullins.
He also sold a small holding with a strong quota at Glenville in Co Cork and achieved €360,000 for the non-residential farm.
Following the dip in demand for quota in 2006 and early 2007, there is now strong interest, the agent said, and in this case the milk sold the land. It’s now making in the region of €2 a gallon, he says, and people are very interested in buying quota.
