ARGENTINA’S decision to extend its limits on beef exports to March 31 has strengthened EU cattle farmers’ hopes of high prices in the spring.

It coincides with the EU ban on beef from Brazilian farms deemed as failing to meet EU food safety standards.

Consignments of de-boned and matured beef from Brazil which were certified and dispatched before the latest restrictions can be imported to the EU until March 15.
