Hat trick for Co Cork exhibitor at Charolais National Show

WITH nearly 400 entries, the 2007 Charolais National Show in Carrick on Shannon resulted in Co Cork exhibitors Kevin and Cynthia Foley from Killeagh exhibiting the overall champion female, Royal Pivoine, and the senior and overall reserve champion male, Royal Vangogh.

The former, by “Lancelot”, out of a dam by “Berlioz”, was imported from France. The latter was home-bred, by “Ocean”, out of “Royal Goujonette” by “Eucalyptus” The overall champion male, Riversdale Anchor — by “Oscar” out of “Prime Noelle” by “Jupiter” — was shown by Andy McGovern, Cloone, Co Leitrim.

The overall reserve female champion Castlenode Barbara, was bred in Co Roscommon by Tony Bosquette, Strokestown. She is by “Hermes” and out of a dam by “Tennis”.
