AN estimated 12,000 people flocked to The Beaches in Bantry for the annual agricultural show last Sunday.

The finals of national and provincial competitions attracted big interest, and the policy of the organisers in marrying these events with a broad-based programme of community and family orientated activities provided the blueprint for one Ireland’s most successful shows.

Show chairman Corney Buckley was delighted with the attendance. “There were people everywhere. It was fantastic,” he said.
