Munster Agricultural Society seeks new HQ and showgrounds near Cork
The voluntary organisation, who has been running since 1842, has dates booked at the Showgrounds on Centre Park Road until 2008, and will leave some time after that, says chairman Gerard Murphy, so they are anxious to put an alternative in order, sooner rather than later.
They are in the process of claiming compensation for the CPO on their 21.5 acre Showgrounds site (a process familiar to many farmers), and are in the process of compiling valuations at the moment.
They are also seeking a venue for the future, as they have 90 to 100 dates in their calendar each year to fill. With a new headquarters, they would be look to expand on their current offering and may also consider a move into other, venue-related ventures.
A position on future and previous plans can be found on their www.musteragriculturalsociety.com website.
Interested landowners who are willing to engage in discussions with the society should contact JW O’Donovan Solicitors, Cork.
