Plenty cattle but market doesn’t need volume

IT WAS hard to find a glimmer of hope for cattle farmers in a very disappointing beef trade at the factories this week, with prices on offer falling further.

Those anxious to sell cattle this week have been very disappointed at the downward trend which is compounding their losses, as the processors cut as much as 6 cents/kg (2p/lb) off prices for cattle.

They claimed they cannot find markets for the volumes of beef which they are handling.
