Natural extract fly repellent in cattle minerals

The family owned Denis Brinicombe Group in Devon first tried adding garlic, but with little effect. After further research, they combined 15 herbs and spices, and came up with the Repel-Ex additive.

Organic and inorganic natural elements and extracts are formulated so that when cattle consume Repel-Ex, the active elements seep through sweat glands and skin pores, resulting in a shield-like odour surrounding cattle, which flies don’t like.

James Brinicombe, Group Director, said, “Cattle grazing in the summer while having access to the tubs are considerably less affected by flies. They can be seen grazing contentedly in the middle of fields while other groups, which do not have access to a tub, are standing around under trees and hedges.”

Grazing cattle bothered by flies can lose much live weight gain potential over a grazing season.
