A ROADSIDE holding, on the main Cork to Skibbereen road, is on the market as a private treaty sale with Jim O’Brien of CCM Property Services.
The farm, at Letter, Skibbereen, comes with a three-bedroomed house in good condition, and has 64 acres of land divided almost equally by the public road.
According to the agent, about 50 acres are very good quality pasture land and there are 10 acres of boggy ground. Some would be suitable for draining, but there is one portion that runs into Shepperton Lake that wouldn’t really be worth the bother, he says.
The house comes with a modern yard and includes two good quality cubicle houses. The first is 46’ by 27’ with a feeding passage, and the second is 60’ by 45’ with fodder storage and calving pens. There’s an open silo of 60’ by 30’, and old stalls and outhouses.
The house is in very good condition, and includes a kitchen, living room, sitting room on the ground floor, with three bedrooms and a bathroom overhead.
The property is only three miles from Skibbereen, on the Leap side, and is well looked after, which should see it receive a lot of interest from local farmers and hobby farmers.
The property is being offered in the entire, but considering it’s divided by the road, and the demand for second homes in the area, there could be scope to sell in lots.
The guide price for the land is €15,000 upwards per good acre, says Jim O’Brien, and an overall figure will be left to the market to decide, he says.
