€93m for food research projects in Ireland

FOOD research projects have been aided with €93 million from the National Development Plan 2000-2006, following Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan’s approval of the final tranche of grant assistance of €31 million for 57 projects.

Among the research ideas aided are functional foods and product reformulation for enhanced health; innovative products and novel technologies; and the safety and security of the food chain.
