So here goes:
Carla’s Family Favourite Fruit Cake: This rich fruit cake has been baked to celebrate many very happy occasions in our family down the years, from Christmas gatherings to 21st birthdays, weddings and Christenings, and for those who, like me, find that the traditional almond paste and royal icing tends to be left uneaten on the plates, I’ve got an alternative glace fruit and nut topping recipe, or you can leave it as it is and simply put a cake frill around the sides.
