IFA to pursue compensation over reactors

A FLOOD of complaints from farmers not getting replacement cost for reactors has led to IFA pursuing compensation issues at Department and EU level.

IFA to pursue compensation over reactors

Deputy President Derek Deane told Limerick IFA, “We are looking for a revamp of live valuation, to give a realistic value to farmers.” There is an appeal system in place, but “certain appeal officers are being brought in from outside areas and are not very popular as there is a belief they are being used to keep the prices down.”

IFA wants a rota system of valuers in each region to select appeals officials.
