Rich limestone land close to K Club

A FINE grass farm at Ardrass, Co Kildare is due for auction on November 7, but may be too rich for a farmer buyer to digest.

Rich limestone land close to K Club

On the best limestone land, this 221 acre Elton soil series farm has a fantastic location, says Paddy Jordan of Jordan Town and Country Auctioneers.

Laid out in three lots, it’s only one kilometre from the K Club and Straffan village, and two kilometres from Celbridge.

Maynooth, Naas and Clane are all close by, leading Mr Jordan to expect business and other non-farming interests to take a good look at the property, especially as it comes in bite-sized chunks.

The land is being offered in two lots of 67 acres apiece and another of 87 acres which is closer to Straffan village.

The land has extensive frontage onto the river Liffey.

The auctioneer, who’s had an exceptional year of sales, says the land has medium if not short-term development potential, and it has mains water at the road.

The guide price is in the region of €70,000 to €80,000 per acre, and the auction will be held in the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth.
