Boel cleared of conflict of interest charge
After a political row sparked by a Danish far-left politician, a spokesman for the European Commission said EU lawyers issued a clear-cut opinion, after receiving documentation from Fischer-Boel’s accountants.
She was found to have put a clear distance, under Danish law, between her land ownership and the exploitation of that land for agricultural purposes.
Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen pointed out she receives no revenues from the farm.
