Dairygold to sell off cheese firm stake

DAIRYGOLD confirmed yesterday that it plans to sell its 50% shareholding in Aeron Valley Cheese plant in south Wales.

The co-op said it was negotiating with a Glasgow-based cheese manufacturer, A McLelland and Son Ltd, on the sale of the shareholding.

In 2001, Dairygold entered into a 50/50 joint venture with First Milk, Britain's leading farmer-owned dairy business, for the Aeron Valley Cheese plant.
