Mushroom sector task force set up

A TASK force has been set up by Food Minister Noel Treacy to examine the critical issues facing the mushroom sector and to draw up a co-ordinated action plan to ensure that it is put on a firm footing.

Members of the group are drawn from areas involved in the mushroom supply chain, including the State agencies which contribute to the development of this high value sector.

Minister Treacy said he was pleased that the former chief executive of Dairygold Co-op, Denis Lucey, had agreed to chair the task force. He will bring to bear his considerable knowledge and experience of the agri-food industry.
