NOW that the official opening has passed, and the CPO process is just a dim memory, the Ballincollig bypass, on Cork’s western limits, continues to have an effect on the once exclusively agricultural Curraheen area.

Now that farms are carved up, or disrupted, there have been at least two properties on the market in the area, with strong rumours of a third.

Landowner Gerry Lynch recently sold about six acres for €1.75 million per acre to Bride View Developments.
