Farmers warned against cattle theft

ICSA president John Deegan has urged farmers nationwide to be extra vigilant in watching over their stock.

He said three farmers have had cattle stolen in Co Laois.

“These cases are especially worrying as the thieves have been extremely calculating.

“They have been especially brazen in so far as they have selected the better quality animals,” he said.

Mr Deegan said farmers need to be extra vigilant in checking their stock and locking gates and to report any suspicious behaviour to their local gardaí.
