Marts: There was a strong trade for bullocks with and without a premia in the marts yesterday.

Up to €350 over €/kg was paid for quality punched out heavy bullocks, with plenty of customers around the ringsides for the good bullocks over 500 kgs. Farmers paid up to €460 over €/kg for bullocks in the 500-600kg range with a premia left with strong demand for the bullocks entitled to draw a premia qualify for a premia before the end of December.

The supply of cattle at Bandon Mart yesterday was similar to last week “with little or no change in the trade” and lots of buyers for cattle with and without a premia.
