Balancing payments set for April

The 40% balancing payments of suckler cow premium, slaughter premium and special beef premium will be made in the first week of April to farmers who claimed special beef premium on less than 25 animals, according to IFA.

IFA President John Dillon said the Department of Agriculture has confirmed this.

He has called on Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan to clear the way for all outstanding 2004 premium payments, worth over €200m in total, to be paid out to all farmers.
