Milk quota attractive feature at auction

A VERY attractive parcel of land which has a favourable ratio of milk quota-to-acres, is due for auction on November 25. Denis Howell of Warren estates is in charge of selling this non-residential dairy farm at Ballykilty, Coolgreany, at Gorey in Co Wexford.

He describes it as an outstanding holding of 47 acres, with 34,000 gallons of quota, and also entirely

eligible for cereal aid. Just one mile from Coolgreany village, the farm has some of the best grazing land in the area, says Howell.

It can be sold in lots, being currently divided between pasture and maize. Thirty acres can be sold with 21,700 gallons; 17 acres with 12,300 gallons: or the entire property may be offered for sale.

The quota isn’t ring-fenced, which should help to pack in the buyers on the day of the auction.
