PROSPECTS for recovery of losses incurred by livestock farmers when the Tralee Beef and Lamb company collapsed three years ago have received a further major setback.

Farmers who supplied livestock to the factory immediately prior to its collapse are owed €3.5m.

Now, Anglo Irish Bank has confirmed that they will not contribute towards a farmers’ compensation fund.
