Amenity, garden market worth €450m
Speaking at the Kildare Growers’ 20th Annual Trade Show at the Punchestown Event Centre, Junior Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith said the nursery stock sector continued to make an outstanding contribution to the Irish horticulture industry. Last year the sector was valued at close to €47m.
Mr Smith said he was pleased his department had been able to help the development of the sector in the last five years by providing grant aid under the National Development Plan (NDP) 2000-2006.
