IFA Dairy Committee chairman Michael Murphy made the plea a week after the introduction of the first CAP reform intervention support adjustments.

He said all co-op board members should ensure that any short-term “wobbles” due to the implementation of CAP reform are not used as an excuse to further erode fellow-dairy farmers’ incomes at a time when they cannot afford it.
