Veterinary Practice Bill published

Dublin: A new Veterinary Practice Bill has been published by Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan and presented to the Senate.

She said the present legislation which governs the veterinary profession was outdated and did not meet the needs of the profession.

Ms Coughlan said the maintenance of the highest standards in the profession is a matter of great social and economic importance to this country.
