Burns to chair IFA Sheep Committee

LAOIS farmer Henry Burns, from Mountmellick, has been elected chairman of the IFA Sheep Committee.

A full-time sheep, livestock and tillage farmer, he said his main priority is to improve the incomes of Ireland’s 35,000 sheep producers.

He said major challenges face the industry, which is Ireland’s third largest farming sector.
