Area aid closing date extended

The closing date for area aid applications has been extended by Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh to Monday next to facilitate farmers who had encountered difficulties with the postal system this year.

The penalty procedure for the late submission of applications will not now apply until after April 26.

Applicants must ensure that their completed form is received in the Area Aid Unit of the Department of Agriculture and Food, Hume House, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, or in any local office of the Department no later than 5.30pm on Monday next.
