Teagasc’s milk research boost

Ireland: A decision by Teagasc to expand milk production research in the west and northwest has been welcomed by Connacht Gold chief executive Aaron Forde.
Teagasc’s milk research boost

He said the revamped research programme will ensure a better return on the financial contribution from dairy farmers in the region to the Teagasc research programme.

Mr Forde said the programme will involve more research at regional centres such as Ballyhaise College in Cavan and Kilmaley in Clare. Teagasc is also to carry out an in-depth analysis on milk production on 16 dairy farms in the region. The results will be used to set specific regional targets for efficient production.
