Bord Glas chief executive Michael Maloney said competition in this year's awards was very strong.
"Bord Glas consumer research indicates the most important factors for consumers when shopping for fruit and vegetables are freshness, variety, appearance, display and quality. Through our quality programme, we ensure fresh produce reaches retailers in top quality condition and with the Retail Display Awards, we continue this work with retailers to ensure the display of fruit and vegetables in-store is of the highest possible standard so that shoppers are enticed to buy more," he said.
