Macra welcomes driver test initiative

MACRA na Feirme has welcomed the upcoming measures from the Department of Transport to address the excessive waiting lists for driving tests.

Macra’s new national president, Colm Markey, said the plans to bring the waiting list down to a couple of weeks from the current average of almost ten months, was good news for the 124,250 provisional drivers currently caught up in the driving test backlog.

He said that it was crucial that the new Driver Testing and Standards Authority be properly resourced.
