Dillon warns 2013 could be unlucky

He was referring to the World Trade Organisation agreement, reached in Geneva last August, which, he said, would result in export refunds for agricultural produce being phased out by 2013.

The European Commission would have to defend Community preference and regulate the volume and standards of food imports, to protect the EU’s family farms, Mr Dillon warned.
