Court challenge over chicken meat

Compassion In World Farming will challenge the British Government at the High Court in London tomorrow on its policies regarding chicken meat production.

CIWF claimed yesterday the outcome could have serious repercussions for the broiler industry in the rest of the EU.

CIWF said it will argue that under EU law Britain should not permit the use of fast growing breeds as it leads to chronic hunger in the breeding flock and painful leg disorders and heart failure in the broilers reared for their meat.
