High milk solids and compact calving, resulting in higher profits, were the main messages from the walk by over 200 farmers. A feature was the excellent grassland management practiced on the farm.

Two further Teagasc open days are planned for Eamon Fagan’s farm at Lough Ree House, Glasson, Athlone, Co. Westmeath (April 19) and Richard Starrett’s, farm at Killendarragh, Lifford, Co Donegal (May 4).
