Collection of waste farm plastic scheduled in May
Cork North West Fianna Fáil TD Michael Moynihan said he has pressed Irish Farm Film Producers Group (IFFPG) for progress on collection, and he urged farmers to call IFFPG at 1890 300444 to register for collection, even if they believe they are already registered.
In advance of collection, IFFPG will hold open days later this month at amenity centres, where farm waste plastics can be dropped off for free collection, said Deputy Moynihan.
Farmers have already paid a levy for the collection of their waste plastics, but IFFPG had to leave at least 4,500 tonnes uncollected from farms in 2005.
