Irish pig price 7% off average for EU-25

PIG prices are unchanged this week, according to IFA. Prices range from Glanbia’s €1.35 to €1.40 cent/kg, up to 144. The Northern Ireland price is €1.36 to €1.46/kg.

Export plants quote mostly on a flat rate basis, at 140 to 143 cent/kg (net) at Dawn and Galtee, 135 to 140 cent/kg at Glanbia. With the welfare bonus remaining at 6c/kg on average, welfare pigs average €1.45 to €1.48/kg.

IFA says there is steady demand for pork, with prices quoted from 140 to 146 cent/kg.
